Nando’s Southland Shopping Centre

2090a/1239 Neapean Highway, Southland Shopping Centre

This restaurant was completely redone from a front of house perspective and is located adjacent to the cinema complex.

It opens into the wide main mall and a very strong statement was required at the top bulkhead to reinforce its presence amount the other restaurants.

The existing messmate timbers were retained and  a zincalume teal green sheet was added which really makes the timber pop.

This strong palette colour was the highlight colour which was reinforced in the linear banquette,  supports to the overscaled pendant light fittings in the dining zone and African block timber washed pattern in browns, creams and blacks, was used as the barricade to the mall.

This results in a new African design into the equation, and artwork was strategically placed and becomes the focal point of the dining zones.

There is an excellent use of colour on the various surfaces to really make this restaurant pop and stand out from the competitors.

The neon cockerel stands dominantly as the signage piece on the Zincalume cladding and dominates the mall from near and far.

As the dining zone is approached 3 beautiful overscaled pendant lights dominate the area and  showcase the vibrant geometric patterns.
